چکیده

This study investigated the action of 5-HT receptor antagonists on cell proliferation in the dentate gyrus of adult rats. Three 1A antagonists (NAN-190, p-MPPI and WAY-100635) all produced a statistically significant |30% reduction in the number of BrdUimmunoreactive cells in the dentate gyrus. This suggests that 5-HT receptor activity is important during naturally occurring cell 1A proliferation in the dentate gyrus, and perhaps neurogenesis, and is one of the many factors involved in its regulation.  2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
